Dimensions

The Round Rooflight pours daylight into a room for a destinctive designer feel. The edgy shape of the window makes it stand out in any kind of room. Combining multiple Round Rooflights in your home will give it a vibrant feeling and a great architectural look. The Round Rooflight can be fully customised from 900 mm to 1350 mm, allowing you to choose your perfect pool of daylight.

When you design your Round Rooflight, Vario by VELUX will deliver to your door. The product includes the frame and the double layer insulated glazing unit plus a top-plate with pre-installed gasket system for optimal air tightness. The upstand for the Round Rooflight will be manufactured by your installer to your specific architectural requirements.

Glazing

The insulated glazing unit for our round windows is a double glazing unit, for the maximum daylight drenching effect.

Our round window glazing units:

Come with a laminated inner pane, which we consider a prerequisite for safety measures. The lamination also eliminates the risk of UV rays fading your interior furnishing.
Have a warm edge spacer to ensure a thermal breakage and energy efficiency
Come with a 115 mm black silk screen to protect the underlying gasket system and for aesthetic purposes

As an example, our round double glazing units have a LowE coating providing a solid insulating value of Ug 1.1 and a stunning light transmittance of 80%. We use an 8 mm toughened outer pane and a 8.76 mm (44.2) laminated inner pane, separated by a 16 mm argon gas filling for thermal performance. Frame Construction

All our lightweight aluminium rooflight frames are:

Designed to work perfectly with our laminated insulating glazing units
Crafted from highly durable and strong 5 mm aluminium, selected for its high corrosion resistance, joint strength and malleability
Treated with a polyester powder coating to ensure a tough, weather and corrosion resistant, durable finish
Powder coated with our standard RAL 9005 Jet Black
Can be customised through a variety of special colours

Upstand

The Round Rooflight is the only product in our product portfolio, which does not come with an upstand. However, we don't leave you entirely on your own! Vario by VELUX will supply a top-plate (RAL 9010) with a pre-installed gasket system for optimal air tightness, ensuring a 100% tight and secure connection between the frame and upstand construction.

You'll need to get your installation contractor to construct your upstand for The Round Rooflight. The upstand can be built in various ways to fit the architectural requirements of the building, but if you are interested in the Vario by VELUX way of building them, so you know what to specify, we use a wooden upstand of at least 150 mm that is insulated with rock wool.

Performance

The Round Rooflight is a little different, which is one of the reasons we love it. Because it requires someone else to build the upstand, we take our performance metrics from the properties of the double layer insulated glazing unit. These specific values are available for you in our glazing table.
